In some of the larger communities such as Pelican Bay, Pelican Marsh, Wiggins Bay, and Vanderbilt Beach, there are a few condo communities that accept pets. Many of the restaurants downtown allow your furry family members to sit with you when you are dining outside. Many other store owners place water bowls in their doorways and welcome your four-legged family members. Including our office, when walking along Fifth Avenue South, feel free to pop in or take advantage of the water bowl and treats we leave out daily. Many of the shops and outside restaurants in Naples are dog-friendly. However, at high tide, the water covers the path to the beach, and the beach becomes narrow, you may have to wade through knee-high water to get to the beach, making it difficult for smaller dogs. At low tide, the beach is long and wide with plenty of places to run and play. At the dog beach, the tide can sometimes be restrictive depending on the size of your four-legged friend. There are plenty of great parks in Naples to take your four-legged friend for a run and meet with other pet parents, and there is even a dog beach located just a little further north of Naples in Bonita Beach. If you want to be by the beach, check out the condos at Regatta or Bayfront to be close to downtown and fabulous boating. However, it is not impossible just make sure you plan well ahead. If you are a seasonal winter visitor, it is not so easy to find Pet-friendly vacation rentals as many of the dog-friendly communities have restrictions that apply just to renters.
